The Lighthouse Project is my lifelong mission to visit every lighthouse in the United Kingdom. From the towering coastal guardians of Scotland's rugged cliffs to the solitary beacons marking the hidden sands of the English Channel. It's part travel odyssey, part historical exploration, and part personal pilgrimage; a celebration of the maritime heritage that has shaped these islands for centuries.
Each visit is a chance to uncover stories of resilience, innovation, and human endurance. I document the architecture, location, and history of each lighthouse, as well as the landscapes and communities that surround them. Along the way, I aim to capture how these sentinels of light continue to inspire awe, creativity, and a deep connection to the sea.
But The Lighthouse Project is more than a checklist; it's a way of slowing down, embracing the rhythm of the coast, and experiencing the beauty and solitude that only a lighthouse can offer. Every journey adds a new beam of light to the map, connecting past and present through a shared fascination with these remarkable structures.
